The girls’ golf team finished the season at sub-state in Birmingham on May 2.

Stephanie Whitman scored a 76, missing qualifying for state by two strokes. Teammate Brittany Sims ended the season with her season high of 86. Rayna Chapman was unable to finish the round.

“The team did not get to finish as a team,” coach Kevin Gibson said. “Rayna aggravated a three-week hip injury and it was a hilly course.”

Gibson was proud of his girls ending the year at sub-state.

“It’s a great accomplishment because only four teams out of 19 were able to go this far,” Gibson said. “It was a fun ride.”
