Countdown Is Decent, Not Extraordinary

The movie “Countdown” is about an APP that predicts when someone will die. In the beginning of the movie, partygoers download the app to see who has the shortest lifespan. Soon, they realize that “Countdown” is no ordinary app. Throughout the movie, as their times dwindle, demons begin to mess with them.

Seeing “Countdown” last night, I did not know what to expect. The movie was full of frightening scenes that had my heart racing. It had a good plot with excellent character development. While it was a decent movie, it was predictable. The few twists were easy to see, making the movie less interesting.

None of the characters were particularly likable, making me unable to get attached to any of them. Matt, a young man the audience meets later in the movie, lives with a haunting experience from his past. He is an extraordinary person and he is very likable, but I just did not feel emotionally connected to him.

The ending was gripping, and the post-credit scene was hilarious. Overall, the movie was good, but it leaves more questions than answers. Rating: 2.5/5.
