Screams of spirit echoed in the gym on Friday, Aug. 28 during the first pep rally of the year.

The pep rally, organized by SGA, celebrated the football team and included a teacher dance off, a soda chugging contest and tug-o-war.

“It was exciting and they had competitions for each class to compete in so that was cool,” sophomore Natalie Craney said.

The medical academy teachers, Kim Goins and Angela Holland stole the show with their dance skills and excitement. They even ran around the gym getting students to jump up and cheer.

“They’re just talented, funky and committed to good dance,” English teacher Evan Carter said.

The pep rally introduced the football team, all the players were wearing their uniforms and ready to meet the crowd. The players felt that the students motivated them to be their best in the game.

“Students have a lot of energy and they bring all the energy to the games and that builds us up to help us win,” senior player Oshay Brown said.
