History Channel to debut World Wars

By Katlin Gillespie, Reporter

The History Channel will debut “The World Wars” over Memorial Day weekend. This is a treat for war junkies that love hearing about the history of soldiers and the war.

The six-hour series will be a blend of narration, dramatic scenes and talking heads. For those who particularly like World War II history, the series will chronicle the lives of Hilter, Stalin, Churchill and American Gen. George Patton.

This special documentary will premiere on Memorial Day at 8 p.m, putting an emphasis on the holiday and the meaning of the holiday.

Unlike most holidays we Americans celebrate in the United States, Memorial Day is one of the most important holidays as it allows people to honor our fallen soldiers who died for our country. Most of the time people visit graves or attend parades that cities and towns put together. Rather than dress up in costumes and trade scrumptious candy. You see my point here; Memorial Day is significant.

Unofficially, Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer and if people honor Memorial Day, whether they know the background of it or not, they should watch something about it, too.
