Senator’s First Win at Capital

Last Friday night, Sparkman High School faced Huntsville High School in a closely matched regional game, with the final score being 36-28 and marking Sparkman’s first home win.

 

Junior running back Braylon Lawson made the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter, starting the game off strong. Sparkman held the lead at 26-14 going into halftime. In the third quarter, Huntsville Senior wide receiver Bryson Grissiom made a touchdown, turning the game in Huntsville’s favor with a score of 28-26. Junior kicker Daniel Gomez executed a field goal, setting the score back in Sparkman’s favor. With 7 minutes left in the final quarter, Lawson made the final touchdown, securing a final score of 36-28. This puts Sparkman 2-1 in the region and 3-2 overall. Sparkman’s next game is September 26 against Jemison High School.
