Art meets science in new school mural

The idea of painting the walls of the school to create a brighter atmosphere has finally become a reality in the science hallway. The newly started mural will consist of a DNA strand extending down the hallway painted in rainbow colors featuring highlights from each of the sciences.
“We’re trying to brighten the school so it doesn’t look so much like a prison, so that when you come down the science hall it brightens your day,” chemistry teacher Teresa Hodge said. “We had to get permission from Mr. Campbell, but he was all for it.”
Hodge hopes the bright colors will help give students a brighter outlook on the school. It will also give students an opportunity to be creative.
“I really like the idea of painting a mural. It’ll bring a whole different feel to the hallway, and maybe we can get the whole school to follow along,” senior Nick Hopper said.
If you are interested in helping paint or finish draw the mural, see Hodge in room 229 after school Monday through Thursday.
