International women’s day is on March 8. It is a global holiday that focuses on celebrating the goals and achievements of women. The theme for this year is “Inspire Inclusion” with the colors of green, white, and purple.

In 1910, a leader from a Social Democratic Party in Germany, Clara Zetkin worked with Vladimir Lenin and came up with an idea to make an international day for celebrating women. Traditionally, women are supposed to receive bunches of yellow mimosas. It symbolizes female strength and female solidary.

Women have played an important role in society such as children’s rights, voting rights, civil rights, etc. Women’s Day is necessary, It is a sign of appreciation, respect, and care. They deserve all the love for everything they’ve done.

To celebrate Women’s Day, you can wear the colors. Many donate to charity, thank women, attend an event, and host book club meetings. On March 8 every year, we should all thank women around the world and locally
