Dear Students of Sparkman, Be More Considerate to Our Custodians

Dear Students of Sparkman,

The custodians at our school do so much for us. They work all day making sure the bathrooms are sanitary and the lunchroom doesn’t have trash scattered all over the place. It is not their job to throw your trash away so do everyone a favor including the people who have the next lunch and put your stuff in the trash.

As a student, you should want to keep the school you attend clean. It’s really annoying walking into the bathroom at 8:20 a.m. and seeing toilets not flushed, cups left in the sink and food left on the floor. For God sakes school hasn’t even started yet how did you manage to get the bathroom that dirty?

By the end of the day, the bathrooms are almost destroyed which again doesn’t make any sense because they get cleaned during Senator Time. Please start being considerate to your fellow peers and the custodians who work so hard to keep the school as clean as possible.

You can start helping by cleaning up your trash and flushing the toilet after you finish your business. If you notice your friend doesn’t clean up after themselves then tell them to throw it away. Or if you see a lost piece of trash and you can’t find its owner then just take two seconds to throw it away. It’s not hard, I promise.

The cleanliness of the school is almost completely up to the people in it. It is our job to clean up after ourselves and make sure we aren’t making the jobs of the custodians harder than it needs to be.

P.S. Putting your lunch tray on top of the trash can isn’t actually throwing it away.
