Student increases culinary passion through show

February 23, 2016

From black and white to color, VCR to DVD , the way we watch television and movies has been revolutionized over the years. One of the more recent advancements of the way we experience any type of television is stations and shows dedicated to our every wish.

For me, that wish is cooking and the Food Network satisfies that interest.

While my friends binge watch “Pretty Little Liars” on Netflix, I tend to direct my attention to the show “Worst Cooks in America”.This show inspires me. It shows me that not everyone is perfect. The show is about people that cannot cook but really want to, so their family members nominate them to be on the show. In the beginning the contestants prepare their “best” dish for famous judges such as Bobby Flay, Anne Burrell and several others. Throughout the show, the contestants are learning new recipes, basic cooking methods and gaining confidence that they never had before.

I love to cook and bake because it makes me happy and I always like to try new things. I love to bake cookies from scratch but it takes time and patience. I take pride in my cookies, I know that sounds funny, but I truly love to bake cookies and decorate them and make my family happy with beautiful decorated sweets.

From the Food Network and the members on “Worst Cooks in America”, I learned that we should not give up when things do not go our way. We must keep trying until we get it right. Everyone should have confidence in their work, and find inspiration to help them be more creative.
