Photo students to visit Ireland

This summer 14 photo students and photography teacher Eric Mittman will be traveling to Ireland for the annual photo trip.
“We have been going on the photo trip since 2005. The first trip we ever took was to Italy and we went on The Grand Tour,” Mittman said.
Throughout the trip the photo students will be visiting places such as medieval castles and seaside landscapes.
“We will visit 12th century medieval castles like Blarney and Bunratty, hike along the 700 foot Cliffs of Moher and seaside landscapes along the Ring of Kerry. We will also visit the Waterford crystal and a hand-blown glass workshop. The students will experience modern Dublin, tour the 9th century Glendalough Monastery, stay at Causey Farm and participate in traditional 19th century Irish culture,” Mittman said.
Sophomore Malori Hall will be traveling with other photo students to Ireland over the summer. The students will be visiting multiple places to take pictures, but Hall is most excited for the Cliffs of Moher.
“I am really excited for the Cliffs of Moher because it is a really popular scenic view, and there are a lot of memorable things that have happened there,” Hall said.
The group will leave on May 30 and return on June 7. Their schedule will be very packed during these nine days, and they will be staying in many different hotels.
“We will be traveling across the country, and will be staying in a different hotel every night. Overall we will be staying nine days in Ireland,” Hall said.
Mittman plans to continue the photo trips every year as long as the students still show interest in attending.
“In the future I would like to take trips to Costa Rica or Greece, but the destination for next year has not be decided yet,” Mittman said.
