Dolly Parton, originally from Sevierville, Tennessee, was first shown in the public eye in 1961 on “The Porter Wagoner Show”. She first starred on that show for seven years, until her number one hit, “Joshua,” in the early 70s. Even though she was part of a duet with Porter Wagoner, she later established a solo career as a songwriter in 1974. She won numerous awards throughout the late 60s and early 70s, making a significant impact within the Pop and Country music industries.

With her stardom, Parton has done much more than create music. She created the DollyWood foundation that donates to locate charities, the Imagination Library that gifts free books to kids all over the world, and the DollyWood amusement park, founded by Dolly Parton herself in 1986.“Find out who you are. And do it on purpose,” Dolly said.

DollyWood, located in Tennessee,  is an interactive southern theme park that promises fun for all ages. The park features both dry and wet rides, walking trails, live music, Southern cuisine, and museums to learn about Dolly’s life. This park is also conveniently located near the Smoky Mountains, offering a picturesque view. According to Dollywood Park’s informational website, Dollywood is a warm, inviting place that treats guests like family.
