Junior Talks Theatre Huntsville’s Upcoming Events

Coming up on its 25th year, Theatre Huntsville’s 2022-2023 season is filled with laughter, drama and a good time. 

 

Dreamgirls

Sept. 16-25

An award winning 1981 Broadway show, the musical focuses on a young singing trio called the Dreams, featuring main characters Deena, Effie and Michelle and their journey through stardom, family and heartbreak. The show is a mainly African American casted show, focusing on black culture. 

God of Carnage

Oct. 14-22

God of Carnage is about two sets of parents, one of whose child has hit the other while playing at the park. The parents both agree to meet up to discuss the situation. The play focuses on how the polite demeanor of both parents diminishes and how the crazy night goes on. 

A Christmas Story

Nov. 11-20

Based on the classic 1983 movie, A Christmas Story follows 9 year old Ralphie Parker and his longing for his parents to get him a Red Ryder Carbine Action BB Gun for Christmas. The show goes through Ralphie’s life as he tries to behave so his parents will get him the gun, even though they stay adamant about how he will shoot his eye out. 

Clue

Jan. 20-29

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, the show follows six guests, a butler and a murder mystery. The show is filled with laughs, suspense and a classic who-done-it story. The shows will be from Jan. 20 through Jan. 29

In Love and Warcraft

April 21-29

Gamer girl and college senior Evie Malone makes extra cash on the side by writing love letters for people who are going through breakups or messed-up relationships. The show goes through Evie’s life as a gamer and as a single woman writing love letters to keep everyone else’s love lives alive except for her own.
