Crimson Crier: Did you always know you wanted to be a teacher?
Ashley Fitch: Yes, I mean this has kind of always. I would think of other things that I wanted to do but when I would come back to it. I never wanted to follow through on those. I always knew.

CC: Why an English teacher out of all the teachers?
AS: I have always loved to read. English was always my favorite subject in school. I had a really good English teacher in high school, who inspired me to what to do that for a career path.

CC: If you weren’t a teacher what would you be?
AS: I think if I weren’t a teacher, I would probably still being doing something with writing or language. I would loved to be an Librarian or work in a bookstore.

CC: What’s your favorite thing about being an English teacher?
AS: An English teacher in particular, I like all the stuff we get to read. Literature. Teaching literature. That’s my favorite thing about being an English teacher.

CC: What’s your favorite thing about being a teacher?
AS: Working with kids. You guys are so much fun.
CC: What is your most memorable moment as a teacher?

AS: Probably the time a girl faked an asthma attack on April Fools Day. There were deputies and administrators running down here. I was panicked. I pressed the emergency button. Everybody was headed down here and she was like “April Fools”. Then she wrote me an “apology” saying that she’s sorry I didn’t think it was funny at my last school. My teacher thought I deserved an academy award. It was so bad, that nobody else even laughed. One kid started to laugh but one kid looked at him and was like “dude”. It was that serious.

CC: Do you have a husband?
AS: Yes

CC: How did you and your husband meet?
AS: We were actually high school sweethearts. I was in 10th grade and he was in 12th grade. We went to a really small school.

Eli and Addison. Eli is eight and Addison is five.

CC: What is the best thing about being a mom?
AS: Just the snuggles. They love to sit with me on the couch and snuggle. Sometimes they even argue who even gets to sit by me. That’s the best thing.

CC: Favorite memory with your family?
AS: Probably when my daughter was born. Getting to introduce Eli to her and how much he loved her automatically.

CC: What’s your favorite tv show and why?
AS: This is Us. I don’t know it makes me cry every single time I watch it. You would think I would wouldn’t like it. I just love the characters and the stories. Just a family going through family stuff.

CC: Do you like any sports?
AS: Yes

CC: What’s your favorite sport?
AS: My favorite sport to watch is football. There’s always some kind of sports going on in our house. I played softball. My kids play baseball and t-ball.

Most of the time I listen to southern country rock but then again my pandora looks like someone with a split personality. I have Eminem, modern stuff, and then really old stuff.

CC: Favorite food or restaurant?
AS: I really like hot wings and cheesecake. Totally opposite. No explanation. My restaurant to go to is Five Guys. I know that’s not hot wings or

cheesecake. And also the melting plot.
