Cheerleaders Claim State Championship Bid

The Senators cheerleading has made a name for themselves as teams to be reckoned with, by both JV and varsity winning the sub-state competition this year.

Due to COVID, this year the team had to work around quarantine after quarantine and change the way they performed, instead of having a big crowd, they could only perform in front of the judges.

“Winning substate felt amazing for the team. We have had a lot of ups and downs as in injuries and quarantine.” JV cheerleader Lizzy Wilson said. “We have changed our routine so many times and the team’s hard work has shown tremendously on the mat at competitions this season.”

The team will continue to train and work for their upcoming competition. The next stop is the state finals.

“We are so glad we are going to state,” coach Kaitlin Longino said. “The team performed so well.”
