In tea vs. coffee debate, student picks both

In the hot liquid world, there has been a long-fought debate between people who favor tea and those who favor coffee.

Now, as a lover of both, I can appeal from both sides.

Tea is warm, sweet and bitter at the same time and can be enjoyed by all types of people. It can be good on its own or with additions. Heck, it would even be good if it got tossed in some dirty harbor water. A little sugar, milk and/or honey and hey, you have got a concoction worthy of gods. Or a nice, long writing session.

It takes a special person or a desperate one to like coffee. The bitter beverage can also be enhanced with sugar and other additives but it will always have that slight coffee taste.  Some people find that the best part. Others cling to their mugs slurping down the caffeine hoping it will last them at least a few hours and give them time to make it through the next test.

Consumers of both drinks tend to all be looking for one thing though: relaxation. With one sip, a college student can be transported from a dingy library to their own kind of paradise. A drip of tea can inspire one to do that project that is being procrastinated.

Of course, one has to think about pricing. Coffee tends to be more expensive than tea. Some of the prices are outrageous. A good ole box of Twining’s tea does not take a bite out of your wallet.

Each drink, in its own right, is worthy of respect and consumption. So drink on friends, drink on.
