FBLA Sponsoring Blanket Drive for Regency Retirement Home

The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is currently organizing two drives.

With COVID limitations, the club hasn’t been able to do as much as planned. One of the drives is a membership drive to get more members to join. Membership dues are $10 and can be paid on myschoolfees.

“With three new sponsors, it has delayed us getting started this school year,” sponsor Erin Coggins said. “We decided to cut dues this year because it is going to be a short span of time and we are not getting T-shirts.”

The club must complete a community service project, therefore they are sponsoring a new blanket drive for the residents of the Regency Retirement Home. The residents were in need of 200 blankets.

“Alabama A&M organized a similar event but only collected 40 blankets. They gave them to the residents despite not having enough,” Coggins said. “Mrs. Cagle and I felt bad and decided it would be a good idea to collect the remaining 140 blankets so all residents could have one.”

Blankets can be dropped off at in rooms 127 and 133 at the high school and at 137 at S9. Donated blankets should be in a bag for sanitization purposes.
