Student Government Hosts Trunk-Or-Treat
October 31, 2018
For kids enjoyment, Sparkman High School SGA held a Trunk or Treat October 27th.
Trunk or Treating is where adults bring their vehicles or even decorate the back of their vehicles for Halloween, stock up on candy and come to sit in a parking lot for kids to “trick or treat” from trunk to trunk.
“The Halloween trunk or treat was an event that we partnered up with the church to do with the kids we had people from SGA decorate their trunks as different thing like charlie brown, a pumpkin, and frozen. We had kids go around and get treats from all the cars” SGA president Heaven Colquiett said.
Along with hosting the Trunk or Treat SGA held other fun events for the kids to enjoy.
“We had the candy runner which I did and you run candy to people’s cars, a bouncy house and a food truck,” Kody Purrington said.
For the kids who cannot run around the neighborhood collecting as much candy as possible in one glorious night. The trunk or treat was a way to offer the same opportunities as trick or treating to the kids who are unable to participate.
“Some kids are unable to go trick or treating because of religion so the church we partnered up with had trunk or treat teat for the kids,” Colquiett said.
This event came with many heartwarming memories not only that this event proved little things can go a long way.
“We had face painting and I helped with that and the kids got so happy when they saw on their faces the little characters we drew for them and giving out candy they got so happy and cheery over the small things,” Colquiett said.
