Sparkman to Host Blood Drive

Sparkman to Host Blood Drive

On April 5th there will be a blood drive at Sparkman for some local hospitals. And it is important to donate your blood as it helps many people that are low on blood. Anybody can do their part and participate in the blood drive as it can also make you feel better about yourself as it helps many people.

The donations from the blood drive are used specifically in our community. If you go to Huntsville or Madison to get a blood transfusion you could be getting the blood that was donated by our very own students and staff. I encourage everyone to donate as often as they can, every donation could possibly save three lives and you never know when you might need a blood transfusion, So it is a great way to give back to the community.” Said senior Allison Rust.

“I feel like at some point in time everyone will need a blood donation. I think it is important that we donate blood as often as we can possibly six times a year if you are eligible.” Said senior Ashley Curry

About 4.5 million Americans could possibly die without having blood transfusions in a year. 32,000  pints of blood are used on a daily basis in America. Just one pint of blood can save up to three adults lives.
