On Dec. 7 the Senator’s varsity boy’s basketball team rematched Spain park, whom they had lost to just days before in a close game, decided by a mere few points. There was one vital difference. The Senators were in front of their home crowd.

With the Sparkman family behind them, the Senators roared to a nine point victory winning 62-53. Matching Spain Park’s high powered offense shot for shot and then some. The senators had three players with points in the double digits. Maurice Anderson with 14, JP Fletcher with 13 and Malik Tyson with 10.

“It was a great win for us over a great team. Our guys came out with a great intensity and desire to win,” basketball coach Jamie Coggins said.
