Varsity volleyball grows as a team

November 2, 2015

Varsity volleyball started their season without knowing how close of a team they would become in the end.

“I think we did well working as a team and getting used to each other. In the past season we had a lot of drama, and I think we did well with pulling it together, leaving it off to the side and just playing as one unit,” junior Dailyn Herfer said.

Room for improvement was very little since they practiced almost every day of the week, but Herfer still sought for little changes that could create a better outcome.

“I probably could have improved by staying positive in some parts of the game instead of getting down I probably could have helped my teammates out by lifting them up and encouraging them,” Herfer said.

Halfway through the season the record for varsity volleyball was 9-26. As time went on it jumped up to 15-30. The team lost in the first round of regionals to Bob Jones.

“We didn’t finish how we wanted to finish, but I feel like we started to work together towards the end. We got better as a team,” junior Arianna Hayes said “Our outcome wasn’t what we wanted, but I still feel like we worked hard.”
