Sparkman’s Varsity Coed cheerleader’s performance from the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Fla. will air on ESPNU April 18 at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

On Feb. 8, 2015 Sparkman Varsity Coed cheerleaders competed their last performance at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando. They finished their competition by winning first place.

“It’s an honor to be on ESPN. When you watch all of these different sports air on ESPN, it makes you feel special that your team is going to have that honor to be seen nationally,” Coach Lisa Aderholt said.

Aderholt has won nine national championships while coaching at Sparkman. Throughout her coaching experience, the skill level has improved each year.

“Every year it’s like the bar gets raised. Everything has sped up or gotten more difficult,” Aderholt said.

The team is excited to be able to see their performance on television.

“Being on TV means that we are able to show to the world who Sparkman is and continue on our tradition,” sophomore Brittany Cancel said.

The team has worked hard for their victory and cannot wait to let the world know just how wonderful Sparkman really is.
