Democrats score twice; Republicans prepare for steal in 2016 presidential race

Both the Democrat and Republican parties have been beefing up their ranks since President Obama’s re-election. Now, just a little over a year away from the 2016 election, the public is anxiously waiting to find out who will run for president next year.

The Republicans have a slew of potential candidates to choose from for the primary election, and they have not been shy in announcing their participation in the race, as the Republican Party already has three candidates that are running.

As a Democrat, it is thoroughly disappointing to see how scant their selection of candidates is for the primary election and the presidential race in general. The Republicans have more than three times the amount of prospective candidates than the Democrats, and they are preparing for a full-on attack.

Although the Republicans may have lost the last two elections, it does not appear that they plan to make this one an easy fight. And they just might win this time. In fact, it is almost inevitable. The Democrats currently have one thing going for them, and that is their star, Hillary Clinton. Nearly everyone that has the guts to challenge her is chewed up and spit back out like a mouthful of brussel sprouts. Even her own fellow Democrats find themselves intimidated by her; some claim that they plan to take her down, but that is just talk. If they want to play in Clinton’s court, they better come prepared.

The fact that a lot of the candidates that are planning to run for president — both Republican and Democrat — are scared of Clinton, works in the Democrat party’s favor, because she is their best and strongest player. The only problem is that if she decides not to run, or does not win the primary election, the Democrat party has little to no hope for another win.

The Democrat Party managing to get a black president elected, and then re-elected was already a stretch; getting a female president elected is a completely different story especially because of the controversy that has been surrounding Clinton regarding her private email.

The Republicans definitely deserve credit; they have several strong candidates, and as painful as it is to admit it, their candidates are looking much more attractive than that of the Democrats. No one can be completely sure who will run in the presidential race, but it is almost certain that one of the candidates will be Jeb Bush, of the Bush dynasty … and another Bush in the White House is the last thing we need. Unfortunately, it might be what will end up happening.

Clinton’s chances of winning the primary election are relatively high, but her chances of winning the actual race are uncertain. Regardless of who wins the primary election and runs for president, one fact still remains; that we will most likely end up having a Republican president. Let us all hope that it is not another Bush.
