Our school has been pledged by an outbreak. No, disease has not graced the halls of Sparkman High, but an epidemic of girl-on-girl violence surely has.
Many girls at our school have decided to deal with small arguments in a less civilized manner and have resorted to MMA style confrontation. Conflict between feuding girls has metastasized into a mob size dispute, broadcasted in public areas for everyone to see.
Girls, who deal with their problems in a dramatic or over exaggerated way, tend to be affected by their choices in the future. Trying to solve problems with violence never solves anything for long. The issue will always be there and violence only stalls it.
Sitting down with a parent or counselor can help you solve the problem. Social Media promotes a small situation into a massive threat. If you get into an argument over the web, try to end it there. Keep the situation small, bringing in more people can intensify the issue. Sit back; take a breath and think, “Is this really worth fighting over.”
Fighting is never the solution. We all need to stick together and love each other. Celebrate each other rather than bringing each other down.
