A local bands begins to preform for their audience.

Lowe Mill ARTS and Entertainment, America’s largest facility for independent arts located in downtown Huntsville hosts free concerts every Friday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Throughout the months of April, May, August and September, musicians from all over the south come and perform on Lowe Mill’s stage. The concerts are free with the exception of a suggested $2 parking donation.

The Concerts on the Dock are a great event for people of all ages. Dogs on leashes are also welcome. Hula hoops and sidewalk chalk are set out for the kids and there are also food trucks available. The only thing you need to bring is lawn chairs and money for the food trucks, or a picnic of your own.

On Friday, May 18 the band Stoop Kids came to the dock all the way from New Orleans. The band’s genre is a mix of rock and jazz which had the crowd dancing and singing to their songs.

The upcoming events in May include performances by Deering and Down, a band from Memphis, Tennessee on May 22, and the 11th Annual Cigar Box Guitar Festival on May 29 and May 30 with performances by The Mulligan Brothers, April Mae and the June Bugs and many more.
