Unbox the box office with Christmas releases

“Unbroken”
The story of American World War II hero Louis Zamperni, who survived a plane crash, 47 days adrift on a raft and two years in Japanese POW camps. “Unbroken” tells the heroic tale of Zamperni’s perseverance and refusal to be mentally broken by Japanese torture. “Unbroken” is based on the 2010 nonfiction book Unbroken: a World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption, by Laura Hillenbrand.

“Big Eyes”
“Big Eyes” is a dramatic biography that tells the tale of Margaret Keane, who created drawings of large eyed children, the drawings were extremely popular during the 50s however they were not published under her name. Her husband signed, took credit for and marketed the paintings. “Big Eyes” focuses on the legal battle for the rights to the paintings after the Keanes divorced.

“Into the Woods”
“Into the Woods” is a Disney mash-up of several of the Grimm Fairy Tales. Characters from Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel and Cinderella will appear in the movie. “Into the Woods” is a front runner for the family film of the season.

“The Interview”
“The Interview” is a comedy directed by and starring Seth Rogen and James Franco. It is a comedy movie about two American TV hosts recruited by the CIA in an attempt to eliminate North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. Comedy lovers and commie haters rejoice this Christmas.
