After seven different Apple Operating Systems, iOS 8, rumored to be the biggest iOS release to date, is coming to Apple products Sept. 17, 2014.
This new iOS will be compatible with iPhone 4S, 5, 5C and 5S. This major upgrade will revolutionize the iPhone, iPod and iPad capabilities, adding new apps such as Health, Family Sharing and iCloud Drive. The standard apps on iOS 7 have been renovated.
Spotlight searches now pull information from Wikipedia, trending news, places nearby and more. The keyboard has also been upgraded. Apple devices will soon differentiate between e-mails and messages and note recipients when suggesting words, innovating the world of text. Shortcuts to popular contacts have been added to make getting in touch with others even easier. The basic Message app has been drastically changed. Voice, location, and video can now be added to any message even easier than before. Powerful new editing tools are present in iOS 8, expanding the possibilities for photography on Apple devices.
Competition between phone companies is fierce, new models and upgrades coming out one after another. iOS 8 is Appleā€™s latest push to redefine their trademark product: the iPhone. Coupled with the new iOS, Apple also released the iPhone 6. Time will tell if their determined efforts to innovate the iPhone will pay off and push Apple products ahead of others brands.
